Embracing disco music, Gilberto Gil released the album “Realce” in 1979. It is the last record of the quadrilogy “Re,” following “Refazenda,” “Refestança,” and “Refavela.” The work has been reissued on 180-gram vinyl as part of the “Clássicos em Vinil” collection — a partnership between Polysom and Gege.
The repertoire features highlights such as “Não Chore Mais” (a version of “No Woman, No Cry”), the title track, “Superhomem, a Canção,” and “Toda Menina Baiana.” Additionally, Gil performs “Marina” by Dorival Caymmi, opening side B.
