“Jazz Message #2” (also released as “Hard Bop and The Jazz Message of Hank Mobley Volume 2”) was released on the Savoy label. It was recorded on July 23 and November 7, 1956 and contains recordings by Mobley, Donald Byrd, Lee Morgan, Hank Jones, Doug Watkins, Barry Harris, Kenny Clarke and Art Taylor. Lee Morgan was still very young (18 years old) when this recording was made.
This reissue of the album is released as part of the Original Jazz Classics Series on 180-gram vinyl, pressed by RTI, with full analog mastering from the original tapes at Cohearent Audio and a Stoughton tip-on cover.
