Oh Baby!

Big John Patton
Genre: Soul-Jazz, Hard Bop

Patton was definitely one of the top Hammond organ players and Alfred Lion must have thought so too because “Big” John was the second most prolific organist on Blue Note, beaten only by Jimmy Smith. Oh Baby! was Patton’s fourth release on the label: a groovy and wicked soul jazz album which includes the old-school jazz dancer "Fat Judy", and a top notch personnel with Blue Mitchell on trumpet and Grant Green on guitar.
