This legendary Peruvian group, formed in 1975, comprised Tulio Trigozo as leader, first guitarist and composer alongside Washington Luna and Melvin Ríos on vocals, José Luna on bass and Hudson Lozano on percussion. Their friendship launched a musical machine with
triumphs that never stopped. Sonido 2000 released several productions at INFOPESA to generous acclaim, but it was the LP, Mensaje de Amor, released in 1987 and produced by Alberto Maraví, that represented their greatest success. This album came out three years
after Tulio Trigozo suffered a motorcycle accident. After this accident, the desire to return to the stage inspired the leader of the group to create and record one of his most popular songs Mi Cariñito, an all-time classic.
Sonido 2000 was greatly influenced by various artists who Tulio Trigozo was listening to at that time, musicians as diverse as “Led Zepellin”, “Jimmy Hendrix”, “Santana” and “Enrique Delgado”. In this way, rock and cumbia fused with the regional music of Tarapoto, giving
Sonido 2000 a unique style. Their music is admired by thousands of people throughout the country, and helped to give added strength to the “Green Power” movement, which was promoted by INFOPESA and that included contemporary acts such as; Juaneco y Su Combo
and Los Mirlos. This limited vinyl release was remastered from the original analog tapes (1987) at Infopesa’s studio by Aldo Montalvo under the direction of Juan Ricardo Maraví. It comes packaged with an artwork that uses the original cover of the LP reinterpreted by well
known Peruvian collage master Yerko Zlatar.
